I'm about eight months into a three year lease on a new Camry and the paint is already showing tiny chips on the front bumper from all the highway driving between Abu Dhabi and Dubai. I never thought about protection when I signed the lease but now I'm kicking myself because the lease agreement says I have to return it in good condition and I'm worried they'll charge me for the paint damage. A colleague mentioned PPF but I have no idea if it's allowed on a leased car or if I'd have to remove it before handing it back. I started looking into how it actually works and found a page that explained the whole process, and honestly the whole process is laid out here which helped me understand that some films can be removed without damaging the paint underneath. But now I'm stuck on whether the lease company would even care, or if it might actually help me avoid end of lease charges. Has anyone here put PPF on a leased car and then returned it? Did they say anything about it? And if I do get it, do I need to tell the leasing company first or just keep quiet about it? I don't want to spend money on something that causes a headache later.
