My 2014 328i has been acting up for the past week. The transmission slips when I accelerate from a stop and sometimes it thuds into gear when I'm slowing down. Took it to the dealer and they quoted me something close to 15k AED for a rebuild, which is more than the car is worth to me right now. A guy at work said I should look for affordable BMW transmission repair in MBZ City because there are a few shops there that specialize in these gearboxes without the dealer markup. I found one online at bmw garage but I don't know anyone who has actually used them. Has anyone here had transmission work done in that area? I'm in Abu Dhabi and don't mind the drive if the work is solid. Just need someone honest who won't take advantage of the situation. Any advice would really help.
